Marketplace installation is being prepared. Formatter is not listed in the store yet. The test installation below is available while publisher registration and Microsoft certification are completed.
OpenAI API key is selected on first launch. Add your key in AI settings, or choose Continue without AI. The hosted add-in needs no Mac app, Node installation, or local certificate.
Download Formatter for Mac to use a local Claude or Codex CLI subscription. Open the app, enable local AI, then Connect in Word’s AI settings. Enabling local AI may require macOS certificate authorization.
Before Marketplace approval, the companion can also register the test manifest: click Install in Word and save your documents and quit Word when prompted.
Download the Word manifest. This sideloading route is for testing. On Mac, with Word closed, copy it into ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word/Data/Documents/wef/ (create the folder if needed).
Start Word → Home → Add-ins → TrueGrit Formatter. The Formatter button also appears on the Home ribbon.
